Banned Books Week 2012 Giveaway

In honor of Banned Books Week 2012, and in an effort to put more of these important books into the hands of readers, I am giving away a banned or challenged book to one lucky winner.

The prize is one banned or challenged book of the winner's choice (up to $15 US value), shipped from The Book Depository. This contest is open internationally, as long as The Book Depository ships to your country.

If you're looking for recommendations, I have a Suggested Reading post on Banned & Challenged Books that you can check out for some ideas.

If none of those interest you, then you can find other lists of banned books here.

  1. I've read & recommend Harry Potter, Hunger Games & Twilight. But I'll admit, I didn't know they were banned books until today. If I win I'd choose a paperback copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

  3. I've read Harry Potter, Hunger Games and totally recommend both of them. I also rad Twilight Saga and recommend it too, if you like romances. I also read Brave New World (nothing too shocking, it's quite outdated), Lord of the Flies (just creeps and cruelty, not plot to speak of), Lord of the Rings (I can't understand why would anyone want to ban it, it's like every other fairytale), Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging (I'd never give it to my child to read, as it's just like Bridget Jones Diaries, only for teenage girls, but ban it?).

    1. Books shouldn't be banned! But the reasons that people want them banned are abundant. Usually these would-be book banners have never even read the book that they want banned.
